Tomás Olivier is an Assistant Professor of Public Administration in the School of Public Administration at Florida Atlantic University. He holds a Ph.D. in Government and Public Policy from the University of Arizona. Prior to joining FAU, Tomás was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. His interests, broadly, are in the policy process, environmental policy and governance, and institutional analysis. Dr. Olivier is interested in the governance of shared natural resources, with a focus on how groups of actors collaborate to address collective action problems. This includes studying how governments, NGOs, private industries, and individuals create institutional arrangements to govern resources that extend beyond multiple political and geographical boundaries. Most of his work takes place in Argentina and the United States analyzing collaboration and conflict in social-ecological systems that cross political jurisdictions.
